Bridging Leadership Fellows Program for Muslim Communities
 

The Team Energy Center of The Asian Institute of Management opened Leadership Workshop for Bridging Leadership Fellows Program for Muslim Communities, a one-year fellowship program designed to develop leaders from Muslim communities in the country. The program is sponsored by the Australian Embassy and initiated by the AIM Team Energy Center for Bridging Societal Divides. The program is intended for leaders who are committed to addressing the human security concerns, problems of high inequality, poverty and social unrest of different areas of Muslim communities.

The Fellowship Program will increase the capacity of bridging leaders to achieve their leadership goals within the context of the societal divides they seek to resolve.

 
1. To provide an opportunity to increase their leadership capital;
2. To provide knowledge and skills to leverage their networks and relationship capital towards real and sustainable  results;
 
The program is intended for leaders who are committed to addressing the human security concerns, problems of high inequality, poverty and social unrest of different areas of Muslim Communities.

1.   First Leadership Workshop was held October 27-31, 2008 at Union Fenosa Hall, Meralco
 Management Leadership Development Center (MMLDC) in Antipolo City
 
  • The five-day workshop provided a comprehensive introduction of the Bridging Leadership framework to the 15 fellows, engaging them in several exercises to enhance their understanding of their own leadership. The workshop brought out each leader’s passion to solve their identified societal divides using the Bridging Leadership framework. Each leader culminated the workshop with a concrete plan depicting clear vision and programs for their implementation.
 2.   Intervention Period
In between workshops, each leader is expected to lay the foundations of their Bridging Leadership approach in their respective communities and also identify challenges to overcome in solving their divides. Instrumental in ensuring the continued progress of the fellows are constant meetings, consultations, interventions and site visits conducted by the officers and staff of the AIM – TeaM Energy Center during this period.

3.  Second Leadership Workshop, to be held on February 23-25, 2009 at the  Ballroom B, Crown Regency Hotel, Aranaiz Avenue, Makati City
 
This will serve as a venue for reviewing the fellows’ progress in clarifying and implementing their personal response to their identified societal divides. Each of them were given the opportunity to share the first steps they have taken in building co-ownership and alliances with multiple stakeholders in facing their respective divides. The leaders will continue their journey through the Bridging Leadership framework, as they focus next on expanding their network of stakeholders and collaborating with these networks to create new and innovative institutional arrangements towards equitable societies.
 
4.  Third Leadership Workshop, to be held on May 12-14, 2009
 
5.  Fourth Leadership Workshop, to be held on August 19-21, 2009
